Interesting Satellite images of Queensland floods
These amazing satellite photos show the extent of what will probably be deemed one of Australia's worst floods since records began.

Giantprint's Professional Scanning Service Goes Live
After a number of years of scanning our own photos, artwork, graphics and even fabric, we thought the time was right to 'officially' launch our professional scanning service.
We use industrial A3 scanners, capable of a true optical resolution of 1600 dpi (should really be "spi", i.e. samples-per-inch!) and which are able to resolve subtle shadow detail).
You can read more about our photo scanning service / scanning service by visiting:

Sports Photos
The first photo in the group of 13 on the theme of Sports, shows an Afghan bodybuilder posing while another competitor has tanning cream applied in Kabul. Bodybuilding is one of Afghanistan's most popular sports.
Another photo in the New York Times collection very cleverly captures runners crossing the start line for the 114th Boston Marathon. (Those of you who run may be interested to know that Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot, 21, of Kenya, won in a record 2 hours 5 minutes 52 seconds.)
The angle of the basketball shot and its composition is stunning. It shows LeBron James adding Chicago's James Johnson almost reflecting off each other in the first quarter of their N.B.A. playoff game in Cleveland.

Memories Of Sugar Hill
There is a fantastic multimedia feature in the NY Times, showing images of people in an area of Harlem called Sugar Hill. In a time of discrimination and segregation, young people growing up there right before and after World War II found success and inspiration all around them. Explore the people who lived in Sugar Hill and hear the stories of those who grew up there.
The feature can be found at:
